Welcome to the 2006 Summer School on Image & Robotics.

Attending the Summer School on Image and Robotics, provides the opportunity to enjoy two weeks of academic, scientific achievement and promotes international goodwill. This summer, you will have the opportunity to attend a unique and intensive immersion program on image and robotics.

The Summer School on Image and Robotics will be held at Polytech'Montpellier and at the Montpellier Laboratory of Computer Science, Robotics, and Microelectronics (LIRMM in French) in the University Montpellier II (UM2) which is located in the south of France close to the Mediterranean sea.

Montpellier is located very close to Nimes (44 km), Avignon (69 km) and is at the heart of the Languedoc- Roussillon region that has an outstanding natural wealth and historical heritage.

LIRMM is a cross-faculty research entity of the University of Montpellier II and the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) - Engineering department (ING).

The instructors are French and Mexican researchers highly experienced in their domain, they come from prestigious research centers and universities in France and Mexico.

The goal of this summer school is to raise leading edge topics and recent trends related with image processing, computer vision and autonomous robots. Five principal axes will be raised:

1. Image processing and computer vision
2. Movement generation and control
3. Mobile robotics and control architectures
4. Learning and Bayesian methods
5. Bio-artificial interfaces
   

English is the official language of the summer school.

During your stay at Montpellier you'll have the opportunity to live in a student's residence, and visit beautiful places.
