Attending the Summer School on Image and Robotics, provides the opportunity to enjoy two weeks of academic, scientific achievement and promotes international goodwill. This summer, you will have the opportunity to attend a unique and intensive immersion program on image and robotics.

The instructors are French and Mexican researchers highly experienced in their domain, they come from prestigious research centers and universities in France and Mexico.

The goal of this summer school is to raise leading edge topics and recent trends related with image processing, computer vision and autonomous robots. Five principal axes will be raised:

  1. Image processing and computer vision
  2. Movement generation and control
  3. Mobile robotics modelling and control
  4. Learning and Bayesian methods
  5. Vision based modelling and control

English is the official language of the summer school.

The Summer School on Image and Robotics will be organized at the Grenoble University Campus, INRIA Rhône Alpes and University Institute of Technology Grenoble. The school is co-organized by INRIA Rhône-Alpes, Université de Bretagne-Sud (UBS), the Computer Science Laboratory of Grenoble (LIG) and the Mexican Network for Robotics and Mechatronics (RobMec).

Located in the southeast of France, Grenoble is one of the main cities of the Rhone-Alps region and is the prefecture of the Isere department. Grenoble is niched in a verdant setting, at the heart of 3 alpine chains: Belledonne, Chartreuse, and Vercors.

Grenoble, the largest urban area in the French Alps, boast a unique mountain setting, and through the centuries has made its mark as a pionnering city open to the world.

Out of this tremendous human melting pot has emerged an economy that draws its strength from close ties between industry, university and research.

Grenoble is the leading research centre in France outside the Paris area. Grenoble hosts one of the largest student bodies in France, offering courses in every disciplines.

Established in Grenoble and Lyon since 1992, the INRIA Grenoble – Rhône-Alpes Research Centre strives to promote the integration of its operations into the scientific settings of Grenoble and Lyon. It is involved in defining relevant local strategies by systematically supporting a partnership logic.

The Research Centre is a signatory of the "Grenoble Université de l’Innovation" project as part of the "campus plan". It is particularly involved in the "International Software and Smart Systems Cluster" (PILSI) project.

L’Université de Grenoble offers undergraduate, postgraduate programs and doctoral schools covering all disciplines and boasting a truly pluridisciplinary approach, many of them having a specific international dimension. Established links with foreign universities and large firms enable students to master several languages and acquire international experience (internships or training abroad).

The Centre also participates in the FINOVI advanced research thematic networks (innovations in infectiology) in Lyon and "Fondation nanosciences" in Grenoble, which represent two strategic areas of research bringing innovative applications to biology and physics.
