Attending the Summer School on Image and Robotics, provides the opportunity to enjoy two weeks of academic, scientific achievement and promotes international goodwill. This summer, you will have the opportunity to attend a unique and intensive immersion program on image and robotics.

The instructors are French and Mexican researchers highly experienced in their domain, they come from prestigious research centers and universities in France and Mexico.

The goal of this summer school is to raise leading edge topics and recent trends related with image processing, computer vision and autonomous robots. Five principal axes will be raised:

  1. Image processing and computer vision
  2. Movement generation and control
  3. Mobile robotics modelling and control
  4. Learning and Bayesian methods
  5. Vision based modelling and control

English is the official language of the summer school.

The Summer School on Image and Robotics will be organized at the National Institute for Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE), located at Santa María Tonantzintla, in the state of Puebla, Mexico.

Santa María Tonantzintla is located close to Mexico City (130 Km) and very close to Puebla City (15 Km) capital of the state of the same name.

INAOE is a research center of the CONACYT, Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología, (Mexican Science Fundation) with a strong department of computer science, with 20 full-time researchers, and approx. 80 graduate students. The department has robotics and vision laboratories, and several researchers that work in computer vision, pattern recognition and robotics.

INAOE is at the outskirts of the city of Puebla, a two hours drive from Mexico City. There are direct buses from Mexico City’s airport to Puebla, and it has also an international airport with flights from the main cities in Mexico and from some cities in the US.

Puebla, “City of the Angels”, is a colonial city which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It has a mild climate, in December the temperature is between 7 and 21 degrees Celsius.
