Transportation from Mexico City airport to Puebla
The standard arrival point into Mexico for our visitors is the Mexico City International Airport. There is a comfortable bus service operated by "Estrella Roja", which runs from Mexico City airport to Puebla roughly every 30 minutes. The schedules and one way fares (in pesos) are shown below. These buses leave from an area between the National and International Arrivals, crossing a covered bridge on the upper floor of the airport. The tickects are paid at a ticket office located above the bus departing zone. The journey takes about two hours. Buses departing mainly on the hour (6:00, 7:00, ...) arrive to the main bus station of Puebla (CAPU), while those departing mainly on the halfhour (6:30, 7:30, ...) arrive to "4 Poniente" station, located near downtown, and closer to INAOE. We strongly advise you against taking taxis from Mexico City airport to Puebla as the fare will be very high (>$1200 MXN).
See the Time Table for transportation from Mexico Airport to Puebla city. Prices are in Mexican pesos.

Transportation from Puebla to INAOE
If you arrive in Puebla at “CAPU” or at “4 Poniente”, we recommend that you take a "taxi autorizado" to INAOE, which has a regulated price. There are several kiosks inside CAPU and one inside 4 Poniente to buy the tickets to these taxis, all labeled "taxis autorizados". The ticket to Tonantzintla is between $80 and $100, depending on the hour you take the taxi, and the ride takes about 3040 minutes. Inform the driver that you wish to go to "El Antiguo Observatorio" in Tonantzintla.
